Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has talked to Trump about buying TikTok.

Following President Trump plans to ban TikTok from the US and Microsoft plans to buy the app from the Chinese parent company. 

Microsoft said that it was prepared to continue discussions to explore purchase of TikTok in the United States. Satya Nadella who is the CEO of Microsoft is in talks with president Trump to acquire the video sharing platform. 
This is the first time that Microsoft has publicly confirmed their interest in acquiring TikTok. 

According to Microsoft's blog post that was released on Sunday.

"Microsoft fully appreciates the importance of addressing the president's concern.it is committed to acquiring TikTok subject to complete security review and providing proper economic benefits to the United States. Including the United States treasury.

"Microsoft will more quickly to pursue discussions with TikTok's parent company, Bytedance, in a matter of weeks, and in any events completing these discussions no later than September 15, 2020.During this process Microsoft looks forward to continuing dialogue with the United States government, including the President.

"The discussion with Bytedance will build upon a notification made by Microsoft and Bytedance to the committee on foreign investment in the United States(CFIUS).The two companies have provided notice of their intent to explore a preliminary proposal that would involve a purchase of the TikTok service in the United States,Canada,Australia,New Zealand and would result in Microsoft owning and operating TikTok in these markets.
Microsoft may invite other American investors to participate on a minority basis in this purchase."

The blog post released by Microsoft cites that agreement between the two companies have started and that thay would control TikTok in the US,New Zealand,Australia,Canada.
But that didn't talk about TikTok's operations in Africa and other parts of Europe. 

Also Microsoft cites that once the deal made and the purchase completed with help from some other American investors, the personal data of TikTok users in the US will remain and be stored in the US based TikTok servers and will be deleted from other external servers. 

Microsoft also cited that once the app is acquired by them, maximum worldclass security and privacy protection would be given to the users of the platform. 

According to Microsoft,
"These discussions are preliminary and there can be no assurance that a transaction which involve Microsoft will proceed".
