Kamala Harris accepts vice presidential election in historic night in democratic national convention.
Kamala Harris acceptance as the running mate of Joe Biden presidential bid has taken the world,as she becomes the first Black American or African American woman to accept a major party's presidential nomination.
Kamala Harris “made history” as she became the first Black Woman and also the first Asian American to formally accept a major party's vice presidential nomination.
While she was giving her speech in the Democratic convection, she urged voters to reject the divisive and destruction leadership of the present US President, Donald Trump, as she calls him a president who,“turns our tragedies into political weapons”.
According to her speech, Harris said;
“We are at inflection point,the constant chaos leaves us adrift, the incompetence makes us feel afraid,the calouseness makes us feel alone, 'It a lot and here's the thing:we can do better and deserve much better”.
Kamala Harris was born in the Oakland, California into the home of an Indian-born American cancer researcher and Donald Harris, who is an American economist from Jamaica.
While she was on the Podium, she described her family that she was born in and the one she built as the foundation of her career,She said,
“My mother taught me that service to others gives life purpose and meaning, and oh, How I wish she were here tonight but I know she's looking down on me from above.i keep thinking about that 25-year-old-indian woman-all of five feet tall-who have birth to me at Kaiser hospital in Oakland California ”.
“On that day she probably could have never imagined that I would be standing before you now these words, I accept your nomination for vice president of the United States of America”.
Reacting and giving her opinions on President Trump administration, She Said;
“Donald Trump's failure of leadership has cost lives and livelihood, If you are a parent struggling with your child's remote learning, or you are a teacher struggling on the other side of that screen, you know that what you are going right now is isn't working”.
“And we are a nation that's grieving,grieving the loss of lives, loss of jobs, the loss of opportunities, the loss of normalcy, And yes the loss of certainty”
“It not about me or Joe, it's about you,it's about us, people of all ages, colors and creed who are,yes,taking to the streets, and also persuading our family members, rallying our friends,organizing our neighbors and getting the vote”.
“And we've shown that when we vote, we expand access to healthcare, expand access to ballot box,and ensure that more working families can make a decent living”.
Former US President, Barack Obama used his speech to warn that Trump poses a threat to American democracy and he urged voters to turn out and vote for the right choice.
