Google tests new profile card that let users adds theirselves to search result.

Google is testing a new-user created public profile system called "people cards", it is a card which let's Google users create their own profile and put it on Google Search results.

The platforms allows users to add information like jobs, links to their websites, links to their social media platforms, a brief bio about them and more. When these information are added to Google card, it will appear on the search results pages similar to how public figures, celebrities and businesses already appear.

The project is not yet available to the whole world at the time of this post, but is being tested and available in India in English language.

If you are a business professional, performer or anyone looking to build up your own online presence, you might have a website, social media profiles and other information spread across many sites, if you are just getting started you may not have a website or much of an online presence at all.

Google is solving these challenges using a new feature called the 'people card'. It is like a virtual visting card where you highlight your existing websites or social media platforms you want people or fans to visit.

To create a 'people card', first sign into your Google account, then simply search for your name or "add me to search" and add the prompt that appears, to start building your people card you can choose to include the image from your Google account, add a description to yourself, links to your social profiles and websites, an email or phone number.

Only one Google card is allowed per account, a number is required to authenticate the account. To avoid fakes cards by impersonators or abusers, Google says that it has a number of mechanism to prevent spam and abuse of the people card system.
