Sony reportedly boost PS5 production by 50 percent due to increasing order.

Facebook and Sony are reportedly increasing the production rate of PlayStation to 50 percent,producing more PlayStation than it announced that it will ship this year.

The production rate of the PS5 console has increased due to increasing order from other countries including Asia due to the corona virus pandemic lockdown that has left people ordering game consoles for entertainment.

Initially Sony has announced at the beginning of the year that they were going to produce 6 million units of the PlayStation 5 console including the ones they would ship oversea, Now that are producing 9 million units.

Facebook Inc, the largest producers of virtual reality headsets has also increased their production of their virtual gaming system called 'Oculus Quest' to 2 million units.

Following the increasing demand of virtual games systems and game consoles all around the world, the demand of smartphones have drastically decreased more than it has for the past years. 

Analyst say that the demand of the games demand may fall after mass production of the console if the corona virus pandemic lockdown is raised or further eased,as people may get back to their various activities and forget about gaming life in the pandemic.

Facebook bought Oculus from the developers for $2 billion in 2014,after which their earnings increased due to the sales from Oculus, Following the increasing demand on VR games, HTC which was the leading smartphone making company has shifted it focus and resources from handset to VR.

Tech giants like Google,Samsung and Apple have recently been putting more resources into game production.

An analyst in Trend Force, Jason Tsai cites that the VR and games market is getting healthy demands.

"Overall the VR market will continue to grow,Facebook growing momentum this year will be more robust than Sony's VR lineup as facebook's strategy to sell it VR devices at a relatively affordable price since last year to grow the ecosystem base, and it not only targeted gamers but also has a bigger hope to explore other business opportunities and applications".
