Poland to withdraw treaty from treaty on violence against women.
Poland has made known to the world that they will be withdrawing from a European treaty on violence against women.
Poland's Minister of Justice Zbigniew Zioboro, told the news media on a conference on Sunday that his ministry would submit a request to the labour and families ministry on monday to begin the process of withdrawing from the treaty.
The treaty of the violence against women is called Istanbul Convection.
Poland's ruling and Justice party(PiS) and it coalition partners aligned with themselves with the Catholic Church and promote a conservative social agenda. After the announcement, thousands of people especially women partook in a protest on Friday to reject the proposal that was proposed by their government to reject the treaty.
The major protest was held in Warsaw,others protest were also held in other cities to make sure that the government's decision is not carried out.Some protesters held banners that says 'PiS is the women's hell'.
One of the protest organizers said on Friday at a march in Warsaw that the aim of the proposal of the government is to legalize domestic violence in the country.
The Poland government has complained about the 'Istanbul Convection' in 2015. As the government says the treaty is disrespectful towards religion and requires teaching liberal social policies in school,despite in the past it has stopped short of a decision to quit.
