FG announces resumption of domestic flight in Nigeria.


The Federal government of Nigeria has announced the resumption of domestic flight transportation in the nation starting from July 8th. 

The Minister of Aviation in Nigeria, Hadi Sirika,he announced on Wednesday July 1st that the airports in Lagos state and Abuja are going to resume domestic operation since the interstate lockdown has been lifted in the nation, he added that the operation will commence on July 8th. 

In a statement, Sirika said that; 
"The flight will commence at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport and Murtala Mohammed airport in Lagos state. 
"The Port Harcourt, Owerri and Maiduguri will reopen to flights on the 11th of July, will other airports across the nation will join on the 15th of July. Passengers looking to travel out of the country will have to wait a bit longer as  dates for the international airport into and out of the country will be announced later.
"Passengers are highly advised to follow all the safety guidelines and protocols put in place to ensure that to ensure that airport does not become a channel of infection for the dreaded corona virus"

The Minister also added that the date for international flights operations to resume will be announced when things are in place and when the corona virus pandemic has been contained in the locations that the international flights will be going to.

The Nigerian Air transport system has been suspended since March when the corona virus pandemic took it toll on the nation causing lockdown on all domestic and international flights operations to contain the spread of the virus.
