
FIFA confirms paying $700,000 to Nigeria's Super Falcon for World Cup participation.
FIFA recently announced that it has paid the money that it owes the nigeria women football(Super Falcons).
FIFA confirmed that the money being owed is $700,000 and it has been paid to the Nigeria Football Federation in the World Cup section that was held in 2019.
How did they owe Super Falcon the money
The Super Falcon participated in the World Cup tournaments in June 2019 and has not been paid by FIFA for their attendance.the NFF were suppose to receive a million dollars for getting to the round of 16 in France , but it was reduced due to the delayed stay in France and rescheduled flight of the super falcons.
Before it was paid FifA spokesperson, Will Shand wrote;
"Regarding your request as part of our long-term vision to invest into the development of women's football at all level.prior to FIFA Women's World Cup in France.Fifa announced that it would more than triple the financial contribution for participating Member Association in the tournament to USD 50 million."
Recently, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick announced that the country is yet to get the price that they were due to receive and promised to reach out to the Fifa for updates on the payment.
According to his statement
"I have always said that we have a special love for super falcons.
"This is the team that won most laurels for the country and we appreciate and adore them.
"I will be in contact with FIFA during the week to know when we will receive the appearance fee from the 2019 Fifa Women's World Cup.
"That money is the sum of $760,000 and 30 percent of that money is for the team to share".
After the recent statement by Amaju Pinnick, Will Stand they have confirmed sending the money to the NFF.
But the NFF says that they have not received any alert from their account in the central bank.
