Black lives matter protest in U.K destroys statue of slave trader,destroys Edward Colston's statue.
As black lives matter protest fill the major countries in the world, the protest in the United Kingdom have taken to it peak causing the destruction of a statue of a slave trader called Edward Colston.
Edward Colston was a slave trader,merchant member of parliament and a philanthropist,he was born in Bristol into a family of merchants that had lived in the city since 1340's,he became a merchant, while trading in wine, fruits and cloth in Spain, other European countries and Portugal where the first slave traders emerged from,and also the first recorded whites or europeans to visit Africa.
The black lives matter protesters took down the statue the has lasted a hundred plus years to celebrate black freedom and that their lives matters.after some unsuccessful attempt to remove the statue by petition.the protesters used ropes to remove the statue made of bronze and dragged it to the river Avon and threw it into the water were it sunk immediately.
The statue was built and designed in the centre Bristol by John Cassidy in the year 1895 to commemorate his philanthropy.
