New Flu virus:Chinese study reveal that pig disease could be the next souce of pandemic.

The Chinese medical team has discovered that a new Flu virus in pigs can be transmitted from pigs to human and could cause another pandemic.

It was known after a team of Chinese researchers researched on influenza viruses found in pigs from 2011 to 2018 and found a "G4" strain of H1N1 that has all the essential characteristics of candidate pandemic virus.

Pig farmers in the area have also confirmed that there have been increased level of virus in their blood which was stimulated by their contact with the pigs they rear.The study highlights the high risk of the viruses crossing the specie barrier into human. Authorities are trying to put proper monitoring in place where pigs are stored, reared, slaughtered, sold especially in densely populated region in China.

The World Health Organisation(WHO) spokesperson, Christian Lindmeier said that it was important to collaborate on findings and keep people tabs on animal population."It also highlights that we cannot let our guard down on influenza and need to be vigilant and continue surveillance even in the corona virus pandemic".

The new virus is a recombination  of the 2009 H1N1 variant,Some studies has shown that the newly discovered virus in pigs is said to be able to be transmitted to humans does not pose any risk of a pandemic as the corona virus pandemic that put the World activities  to an halt.

Some biologist said that the virus cannot be spread from pigs to humans.

A biologist at the University of Washington, Carl Bergstrom said "There is no evidence that G4 is circulating in humans, despite five years of extensive exposure".
