Governor of Minnesota files civil right charges against state police department.

Governor Tim Walz announced recently that the minnesota police department will be filed civil rights charges over the death of George Floyd that was murdered by a former cop named Derek Chauvin.

Governor Walz, made the announcement and made it known that the state department of human rights will also launch an investigation against Minneapolis police department because of the death of George Floyd who was killed when he was unarmed by a white cop who pinned his head to the ground with his knee for eight minutes and forty five seconds.
Although the black African American man was heard in a released video ,when he was pleading and begging the white cop to lift his knees off his neck, despite his plea, the white cop still pinned him until he died of asphyxiation due to the fact that his breathing and his neck area was in severe pain and hurt.

Following the death of George Floyd and protest that have prompted moves and investigations about the incident.
Walz said the the investigation into the police department policies,procedures and practices over the past ten years will determine if the force has engaged in systematic discrimination against the people of color and therefore work out how to stop it from happening again in the state.

According to Governor Tim Walz announcement;
"Silence is complicity, minnesotans can expect our administration to use every tool at our disposal deconstruct generations of systematic racism in our state".

According to his tweets;
"Our Minnesota department of human rights today filed civil rights against the MPD, Mn human rights will investigate the department policies, procedures, and practices over the past 10 years to determine if they engage in systemic discrimination practice.

"My administration will use every tool at our disposal to deconstruct generations of systematic racism in Minnesota,This effort is one of many steps to come in our efforts to restore trust to communities that has been unseen and unheard for far too long".

Rebecca Lucero who is the state Human Rights Commissioner will seek an agreement from Minneapolis city leaders and the police department to immediately implement interim measures to address systemic discrimination.

Other governmental bodies have been investigating on the case of George Floyd to know if the white police actually deprived Floyd off his civil rights.Derek Chauvin has been charged with the murder of George Floyd,which is a charge of second degree manslaughter and third degree murder.
