World leaders pledges €7.4 billion to fight corona virus pandemic but US president is not among them.
The world leaders has contributed a huge amount of money to combat the covid-19 pandemic hitting hard on the world.
€7.4 billion was contributed to do more research on the covid-19 vaccine and therapies as announced by the world leaders conference,they also added that the money contributed will also be used to transfer any vaccine to vulnerable poor countries.
China was persuaded to join the union,then a week later china was represented by it their European ambassador.
Although this new occurrence seem to be a better one that no world leader would want to miss,countries like Us,Russia and India has not yet participated in this operation,but reasons for them not participating has not been fully known,a separate Covid-19 summit was staged and addressed by the India prime minister, Narendra Modi, including the Iranian president Hassan Rouhani.
The conference which was hosted by the EU nations was addressed by the various leaders in every particular country that participated including France,South Africa,Germany,Spain,Italy,Canada,Isreal,Norway,Japan,Jordan and most certainly the EU.
Donald Trump has suggested that a vaccine would be ready by the end of the year.
Many scientist are in doubt of the time that has been predicted,and said that such cooperation may not be able to speed up the creation or discovery of a new vaccine.
Emmanuel Macron who is the president of France cited that the vaccine that will be invented by the funding of the union will not be subjected to those particular country but would belong to the whole world and especially countries in need.
In his statement,he said;
"Those who invent it of course will be paid fairly,but access will be given to the people across the globe the organization".
The World leaders in the EU says that pharmaceutical companies who receive the funding will not be under a new law of the union but will be persuaded to make the vaccines worldwide at available prices.
The United Kingdom(UK) prime minister said that the search for a vaccine to tackle the novel corona virus was not a competition between countries,instead needs a cooperation "defies the usual way of operating".
Prime minister Boris Johnson was introduced to the summit by the president of European commission Ursula Von Der Leyen.
According to the UK prime minister;
"we will need a truly global effort-because no one country and no one pharmaceutical companies will be able to do this alone.The race to discover this vaccine to defeat the corona virus is not a competition between countries but the most urgent shared endeavor of our lifetime,it humanity against the virus".
Erna solberg the prime minister of Norwich said that "we support the leader of the world health organisation",citing that without the help of the UN it would not be possible to get a vaccine."an effective and coordinated response to the pandemic will not be possible".
Rouhani said that the US decision to pull out of the who was a catastrophe describing it as a "strategic blunder".
The WHO director general, Tedros Adhanom addressed the Eu pointing out how quickly the genetic sequence of the virus has been shared by china amongst scientist in the globe.
The EU said at summit that a total of 7.36 billion out of the €7.4 billion has been pledged with the largest pledges coming from Norway, Japan, France, Italy, And Germany,all the countries listed above pledged €500 million each.
