The Ogun State governor decides to extend the lock down till may 9.
Dapo Abiodun, who is the governor of ogun state recently decides that the lockdown that was suppose to end up in the 4th of May as announced by the federal government would be extended to the may 9th to further handle the situation.
The president announced on the 27th of April that there would be gradual lockdown relaxation in three states,namely Lagos State, Ogun state, and the federal capital territory(FCT) abuja so as to enable the masses to be able to fend for themselves by resuming their jobs and normal duties,till the dusk till dawn curfew that starts from 8pm to 6am.
Governor Abiodun made known to the people in the state that the extension of the lockdown was as a result of the one-week pardon that was given to the state when president Buhari announced the first lockdown in the past month,which is March 30th.
In is statements he said;
"For us in Ogun state,the extension will now end on sunday 9th may,that is,taking into consideration the initial one week of grace the president granted to us by Mr President.
"Taxicab for intrastate journey(within ogun state) must convey only passengers at a time,18 seaters bus for intrastate journey must convey only 7 passengers,tricycle should(a.k.a Keke Napep) can convey 2 passengers,Motocycles a.k.a Okada should Coney only one passenger."
While ogun state extends the lockdown till may 9 they will keep to the curfew announced by the federal government and compulsory wearing of the face mask.
He added that all schools will continue to be closed but digital classes can continue.According to the statement.
"All schools remain closed,while students will continue their digital class.
"30% percent of the public servant should resume work on days of windows relaxation,all essential personnel will continue to work despite the lockdown.
"All public religious gathering remained banned ,all pubs,clubs,stadia,pubic pools,spas,gyms,salons etc, and all assemblies of more than 15 people remain banned restaurant may open on approved day to take out meals only.
"Burials and naming ceremony are allowed but there must not be more than 15 people including the officiating ministers."
