Hong Kong amusement park called Ocean Park faces closure as pandemic toll increases in the state.
Ocean park's manager announced that the park might face bankruptcy and could go out of business at the end of June 2020 if the corona virus pandemic toll continues as tourist who visits the place are now out of the country or on lockdown dey to the pandemic.
Tourist attraction is one of the major ways in which the park get it high earnings from.
Before the novel corona virus pandemic hitting the state's economy the government of the state had proposed to give an aid of $5.4 billion Hong Kong dollars to the amusement park to help it pass it competitors across the regions in the continent.
The hong kong government has now looked for other operations to channel the fund to tackle the novel corona virus disease which may make the amusement park which is the home of the Pandas in the city and various marine habitat,rides and other enormous contrustion.
The secretary for Commerce and Economic, Edward Yau Tang-Wah, said on Monday that the officials had changed their plans which in turn has changed the planned bugdet for the park,so they had to allocate the public fund into other more necessary project to contain the covid-19 outbreak.
Yau said that without the fund the park will not be able to survive,
"The challenges faced by Ocean park are unprecedented,
"without the aid the park will not survive".
Ocean park and Hongkong Disneyland has been closed since late January due to social distancing to avoid the wide and easy spread of the virus.
Leo Kung Lin-cheng who is the chair man of the ocean amusement park board's,said that the park has so far spent HK$700 million to maintain limited operations it closure,added that their 2000 employees was asked to go on a unpaid leave.
Even before the pandemic both Ocean park and Hongkong Disneyland has been running losses and struggling since the mass protest took a toll on visitors,mostly tourist.
Since the cases of the virus has decreased government officials say that the two theme parks can reopen in the coming weeks.
