Tony Allen who is the world greatest afrobeat pioneer following Fela Kuti dies dies at 79 years old.

Tony Allen who is the co founder of afrobeat died in Paris on Thursday at the age of 79,announced by his manager.

The Nigeria afrobeat pioneer died of a heart attack announced when Eric Tosset told the NPR radio.the AFP said that his death was not linked to the novel corona virus.

Tony Allen who is the co founder of afrobeat directed most of Fela Kuti's songs when he was in fela's band called Africa 70's in the late 1960's to the 1970's.
When the Afro beat founder Fela Anikulapko Kuti was alive he was very fond of Tony,he said in a statement that there was no afrobeat without Tony Allen.

Fela Anikulakpo Kuti died in the year 1997 in nigeria,he was an activist,a philanthropist,a band and record producer and the first afrobeat singer.

The afrobeat music came into play when Fela Kuti,after carrying out research and studying music in England fela combined elements of West Africa Fuji music,high life with American funk and jazz. 

According to Tony Allen's 2013 documented Autobiography

Allen was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1940 practiced and learned how to play drums without any tutor at the age of 18.

He learnt his technique by listening to American jazz drummer Art Blakely and max Roach,and then he developed his craft from the sound he listened to.

After some years he met Fela in the year 1964 which was when they started recording fela's album in Africa 70 band including the hit song Zombie and Gentleman.

Tony Allen left africa 70 then emigrated to London then to France,in Paris suburb courbevoie. in later years worked with broad band of musicians including Brian Eno.allen recorded more than 30 albums with Kuti in the africa 70 band.

Trosset paid tribute to him in his facebook post and said he was the coolest person on earth.

According to the post; 

"Farewell Tony your eyes saw what most couldn't see,you are the coolest person on earth!as you used to say.

There is no end

The songs produced by him and fela was usually 10 minutes and kuti's lyrics were unlike the new Africa musicians,his own lyrics were mainly based on talking about the rising corruption in africa,the African dictators and African's military regimes.

Tony Allen was pronounced dead in pompidou hospital in France.
Tributes have been given to him by fela's son and other friends and admirers all over the world.
