McDonald workers threatens to go on a nationwide strike against the company.
McDonald workers files lawsuit against against the company and prepare to go a nationwide strike because of the allegged failure of company to protect them from the corona virus disease ravaging the country.
Mcdonald employees claims that the company has not been implementing adequate and enough,stating that the company did not provide enough equipment and supplies for the workers to fight and prevent theirselves from covid-19,saying the company did not provide enough gloves,face masks,hand sanitizer and necessary medkits to prevent workers from the spread of the virus.
It was made known to people when in a class action lawsuit,five mcdonald's worker said the company's response to covid-19 was inadequate and they also failed to notify it employees if after their colleagues get infected with the virus.
According to the lawsuit filed
"Mcdonald's says that we are essential workers, but it not treating us that way.
"since Mcdonald's hasn't shown it can protect us, we are sueing to make the company prioritizes our lives over hamburger and fries".
The lawsuit filed targeted four mcdonald's restaurant in Chicago,claiming that the plaintiff always works without obeying the social distancing order with colleagues in the kitchens and are usually exposed to the public places and environments which where they go to for delivery or other services where the risk of contracting covid-19 might be high.
Workers also said that the managers did not inform them when their colleagues contracted the virus, that she heard it from facebook ,other store workers say that hand sanitizers,hand gloves, face masks after they went out on strike.
After the protest activities by workers,Mcdonald responded in a statement saying the employees safety and well being is a priority,and added that they had distributed more than 100 million face masks around the nation.
Meanwhile, in California mcdonald's workers in Los Angeles and San Jose also filed legal action demanding that the company has gives them a response within the next 30 days.
The leader of fight for 15 movement which is also an amazon worker in a statement said mcdonald has kept more focus on their profit and little attention on the safety of their employees.
Some of the confirmed cities in which McDonald's workers plan to go on strike include Chicago,Miami,Los Angeles, Houston and others.
