Vice president yemi Osinbajo announced that since the assumption of office,900 billion has been invested in the nigeria power sector.
The vice president then explained that earlier this year seven hundred billion naira was invested,later on another two hundred billion naira was added to it,making it nine hundred billion naira that has been invested in the nigeria power sector this year.
While continuing his speech he said that an additional six hundred billion naira would be added to it,that would be budgeted into the nigeria power sector,although the six hundred billion is not yet confirmed(still in process).
He later explained that one of the reasons that of the power shortage in nigeria is that every territory is controlled by a certain company.and he said that more attention would be on the power sector in this tenure.
He also said that the severe power that Nigeria has had would be a thing of the past,as certain precautions are taken to ensure that.
Another suggestion he said was that they were trying to restructure the power sector to ensure steady power supply,that the second Niger Bridge project was very important to the government.
He also said that Buhari had made special attention to the power sector,that he had ordered and paid for the equipment needed for it,and that not too long from now the Niger Bridge project and other infrastructure around Asaba would be completed.
